Genesis 1:6-8 (NLT):

“Then God said, ‘Let there be a space between the waters, to separate the waters of the heavens from the waters of the earth.’  And that is what happened. God made this space to separate the waters of the earth from the waters of the heavens.  God called the space ‘sky.’  And evening passed and morning came, marking the second day.”

See It!

Look carefully at the painting.  Read the text out loud.  Talk about what you see.  What is the child pulling?  What is coming up out of the water?  What did God do on the second day of creation?  What did he name the waters above?

Say It!

Memory Verse:

Revelation 4:11 (NIV) “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.”

-From “Make a Creation Scrap Book” by Brent Camden

You will need:  white, dark blue, and light blue construction paper, a pencil, chalk, scissors, and glue.

(1) Use a stencil to trace the number “2″ on white construction paper, and cut it out.

(2) Fold a piece of dark blue construction paper in half to form a booklet.

(3) Paste the number “2″ cut out on the front of the dark blue construction paper booklet.

(4) Open the dark blue (water) booklet and paste a second sheet over it of light blue (sky) that has been cut in half horizontally, but with a curve so it looks like half of the planet.  The resulting booklet will be a representation of God’s separating the waters to form sky and seas on the second day of creation.
