If you’re following the news at all, you’re probably aware that the Caribbean nation of Haiti was stricken by a devastating earthquake on Tuesday. The aftermath of a 7.0 earthquake in that impoverished nation is nothing short of devastating.
We are looking for people interested in going (short-notice) to be a part of the disaster relief. We are in conversations with some opportunities to send workers. The potential date of departure would be January 25th and would require some training and a passport that is current. Please fill out the attached form if you are at all interested in going.
Additionally, this coming Sunday (January 17), we plan to receive an offering to go toward relief efforts in Haiti. These monies collected (along with the money committed from the end-of-year missions giving) will be distributed to a small list of organizations that provide both physical and material aid as well as gospel ministry in Haiti as well as to help fund individuals that volunteer to go from Sojourn in response to this tragedy. If you are unable to go yourself, please consider giving to help send teams of workers to assist with the relief.
Thank you for praying for the people of Haiti, and please consider how God would have you give.
Below are a few places where you can give:
- G.O. Ministries
- EDGE Outreach
- Haiti Response Fund (through the IMB)
- Haiti Earthquake Relief (through the NAMB)
In addition, there will be a fantastic show this Saturday featuring five Sojourn artists to benefit Jeff & Vicki Rogers’ work with G.O. Ministires in Haiti and Dominican. Read all the info at the930.org.
I’m definitely in. But when can we get confirmation on the date /training required?
