We will celebrate another Baptism Sunday on March 14.  If you would like to take this important step in identifying with Christ and His bride, email baptism@sojournchurch.com or fill out our baptism registration form at sojournchurch.com, by Sunday, February 28.

And now, Blake Field tells the story of his salvation, which led to a recent baptism at Sojourn Gathered:

My name is Blake Field. Before I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, I wanted to be God.

God wasn’t happy with that at all.

I went to a crusade in Little Rock, Arkansas at the age of 14. There, I clearly understood what it means to become a Christian. The preacher presented the gospel very well. The Scripture that he read was John 11:25-26.  “Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life: he who believes in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. And whoever lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?’”

I believe this, and I’ve placed my faith in Jesus. I’m now forgiven of all of my sin.  I’m a child of God and have new life in Him. I have been changed. I love Jesus with all of my heart, and I love those God has placed around me.  I still have personal struggles and temptations everyday, but I wasn’t ashamed when I went forward to receive Jesus as my Lord and Savior at that crusade. I felt transformed the moment I came forward.  I now have a passion inside of me to live for Jesus.  Praise God!
